Marcus has been with Vance Gate Repair since 2017, and he’s the guy who gets called when a gate has already been “fixed” twice by someone else. His specialty is swing-gate geometry: hinge wear, sag correction, and the fine adjustment of limit switches that most techs never bother to photograph. Before joining us he spent six years doing commercial access control in warehouse and distribution settings, which is where he picked up his habit of labeling every wire. He’s certified on LiftMaster, FAAC, and DoorKing systems, and he can tell you the torque spec on a Viking operator from memory. When he’s not under a gate, he’s rebuilding a 1972 CB750 in his garage in north Fontana.
Elena S. - Senior Installer
Elena came to Vance in 2019 after running her own decorative iron welding side business, and she’s the reason our custom gate installations fit like they were meant for the property from day one. She handles full gate installation projects across Rancho Cucamonga, from steel driveway gates in Etiwanda to pedestrian gates in the neighborhoods south of the 210. Her welding background means she doesn’t just bolt things together, she fabricates brackets and reinforcements on site when the opening demands it. Elena is our Ghost Controls and Mighty Mule specialist for residential retrofits, and she’s known for showing up with a notepad and measuring everything twice before quoting a number. On weekends she throws clay at a studio in Claremont and will absolutely show you photos if you ask.
Devon P. - Service Coordinator

He’s also the one who’ll call you back if your part is delayed, because he hates voicemail loops as much as you do. Born and raised in Rancho Cucamonga, he can tell you which taco place on Foothill is worth the stop after we finish your repair.
Jay T. - Apprentice Technician
Jay joined the crew in early 2024 and works directly under Marcus and Elena on service calls across the Inland Empire. He’s in his second year of learning gate systems full time, and he’s already earned his Mighty Mule certification and completed factory training on BFT operators. His day-to-day work includes testing photo-eyes, running cable, and documenting every step so the job record is complete before we hand it to you. What Jay lacks in years he makes up for in preparation: he arrives before the lead tech, lays out tools, and asks questions most apprentices don’t think to ask until year three. He’s a born documenter, which fits the Vance standard perfectly. When he’s not learning the trade, he’s coaching youth soccer at Central Park on Saturday mornings.
